Pulmonary candidiasis
Pulmonary candidiasis is an acute, subacute, or chronic bronchial or pulmonary infection caused by Candida. Fungal infections in the lungs are more common, mostly nosocomial infections. The pathogens were mainly Candida albicans, followed by Candida tropicalis, Candida highris, and Candida stellaria. Candida infections have been reported to account for 79% of fungal infections, especially in intensive care units, burns and oncology.
