Primary cardiac tumor

About 70% of primary cardiac tumors are benign tumors, and most cases can be cured by surgery. Nearly half of benign cardiac tumors are cardiac myxomas. Other benign cardiac tumors include lipomas, hemangiomas, fibroids, hamartomas, and teratomas. Myxoma is most common in the left atrium, accounting for about 75% of the total number of cardiac myxomas, followed by right atrial myxoma, which accounts for about 20%, and ventricular myxomas and multiple myxomas are rare.
