Hepatic myelopathy
Hepatic myelopathy, also known as portal-lumen shunt myelopathy, is a special type of neurological complication complicated by liver disease. It is characterized by slow progressive spastic paraplegia and demyelination of lateral and posterior cords. Sheath pathological changes were predominant. It is more common in surgery or natural formation of portal-luminal shunts. Most cases coexist with hepatic encephalopathy. Spinal cord symptoms are often masked by severe encephalopathy's consciousness and movement disorders and cannot be diagnosed. The posterior spinal cord is not found until pathological examination Demyelination of the lateral cord.
