A streptococcal infection
The group A streptococci is also called streptococcus pyogenes. The group A streptococci is a type B hemolytic reaction, so it was called β-hemolytic streptococcus in the past. One of the most important pathogens in bacterial infections. The main infections are acute pharyngitis and acute tonsillitis, which can also cause lung infections, scarlet fever, skin and soft tissue infections, and systemic infections. The bacterium is also an indirect cause of rheumatic fever and acute glomerulonephritis. In recent years, the severe infections caused by group A streptococci and the increase in the incidence of invasive group A streptococcus infections have also caused greater attention to this type of bacterial infection.
