Portal hypertension
The normal portal vein pressure is 110 to 180 millimeters of water. Due to various reasons, the portal venous blood flow is blocked. When the blood is stagnated, the portal vein pressure rises, resulting in a series of symptoms and signs of increased portal vein pressure.
