Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis
Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) is a primary glomerular disease common in children and adults with nephrotic syndrome (NS). Histopathological features are segmental glomerular scars with or without foam cell formation and adhesion in the glomerular capillaries. Focal means that only part of the glomerulus is involved (50% of the affected glomeruli); segmental means that some of the leaflets of the glomerulus are involved; bulbar sclerosis refers to the gradual vitreous change of the whole Or scarring.
