Palpitations with weight loss and diarrhea
The onset of hyperthyroidism in the elderly is not the same as the typical symptoms of hyperthyroidism in the young. Most are cardiovascular and gastrointestinal symptoms such as arrhythmia, hypertension, loss of appetite, diarrhea, and weight loss. Therefore, if the 60-year-old elderly suffers from palpitations, diarrhea, and weight loss but is in a good mental state, be alert to the onset of hyperthyroidism.
