Gastric ulcer perforation

Acute perforation is one of the most common serious complication of gastric ulcer. The hospitalization for ulcer perforation accounts for about 20% of hospitalization for ulcer disease. It has been reported that the fatality rate of gastric ulcer perforation is 27%. The older the fatality rate, the higher the fatality rate. The mortality rate is related to the length of surgical treatment after perforation. It is reported that those who undergo surgery after 6 hours of perforation have a rapid increase in postoperative mortality.
