Iris pigmented nevus

Nevus of iris is a cluster of abnormal pigment cells in the superficial stromal layer of the iris, which is clinically common. Iris nevi is a hamartoma, a tumorous mass composed of melanocytes with benign cytological morphology. The reasons are unknown and mostly congenital. White people are more common than people of color. Patients with neurofibromatosis often have multiple iris moles.
