Acute mesenteric lymphadenitis
Acute mesenteric lymphadenitis, also known as acute nonspecific mesenteric lymphadenitis, was first proposed by Brenneman (1921). It is common in children and adolescents. It is characterized by fever and acute abdominal pain. Clinical treatment is effective in a few cases. Mesenteric lymphadenitis and abscess formation after purulent suppuration require surgical treatment.
