Keratoconus
Keratoconus is a type of primary corneal degeneration disease characterized by corneal dilatation, causing the central portion of the cornea to be convexly conical and produce highly irregular myopic astigmatism and different visual impairment. It can be a separate disease or a component of multiple syndromes. It occurs mostly around puberty without inflammation. In the later stage, acute corneal edema occurs, scarring occurs, and vision is severely impaired. The generalized keratoconus includes two types: anterior keratoconus and posterior keratoconus, the latter can be divided into completeness and limitation. The narrow keratoconus generally refers only to the anterior keratoconus.
