Tuberculous meningitis

Tuberculous meningitis is the most serious form of extrapulmonary tuberculosis in tuberculosis and the leading cause of death in children with tuberculosis. It usually occurs within 1 year of first infection, especially within 3 to 6 months. Due to the widespread vaccination of BCG and the development of tuberculosis prevention and treatment, its incidence has been significantly reduced. However, due to the imbalance in prevention and treatment, the disease is still common in some areas, and more patients are found in advanced stages. Therefore, mastering its occurrence and development law, early diagnosis and reasonable treatment are of great significance to reduce mortality and sequelae.
