Aortic insufficiency

Aortic insufficlency can be caused by aortic valve and annulus and ascending aortic diseases in male patients, accounting for about 75%; female patients are accompanied by mitral valve disease. Chronic disease, the most common cause of leaflet damage caused by rheumatic fever, accounted for two-thirds of all patients with aortic valve insufficiency.
