Guillain-Barre Syndrome
Guillian-Barre syndrome is a common demyelination of the spinal and peripheral nerves. Also known as acute idiopathic polyneuritis or symmetric polyradiculitis. Clinical manifestations are progressive ascending symmetrical paralysis, limb paralysis, and sensory impairment to varying degrees. Patients have an acute or subacute clinical course, most of which can be completely recovered, and a few severe cases can cause fatal respiratory palsy and bilateral paralysis. Cerebrospinal fluid examination, a typical increase in protein and normal cell count, also known as protein cell separation phenomenon.
