Pleural fricative

The surface of a normal pleura is smooth, and there is a trace of fluid in the pleural cavity. Therefore, the pleural viscera and the wall layer slide on each other during breathing, and no sound occurs. However, when the pleural surface becomes rough due to inflammation and cellulose exudation, pleural friction can occur with breathing.
