Hepatolenticular degeneration
Hepatolenticular degeneration is a hereditary disease mainly in adolescents and is caused by copper metabolism disorders. It is characterized by cirrhosis, softening and degeneration of the basal ganglia of the brain, corneal pigmented ring (Kayser-Fleischer ring), accompanied by plasma ceruloplasmin deficiency and amino aciduria. Also known as Wilson disease.
