Gastric wall muscular defect

Introduction (Overview): Most of the gastric wall muscle layer defects are congenital gastric wall muscle layer defects. Congenital defects of gastric musculature refers to defects of gastric wall muscle layer caused by embryonic developmental disorders. Congenital gastric wall muscular defect is rare in clinical practice, and it is the most common cause of spontaneous gastric perforation in newborns. The mortality rate is extremely high, and it is still 35% to 72%.
