Pain on the radial side of the wrist

The degenerative changes of the finger joints are manifested in the Heberden "s nodules of the distal interphalangeal joints, which are more common in the middle and index fingers. Bouchard" s nodules of the proximal interphalangeal joints are less common and often mistaken for rheumatoid nodules. Degenerative changes in one metacarpophalangeal joint can cause pain at the radial side of the wrist joint, but other metacarpophalangeal joints are rarely involved.
