Vestibular ataxia

Vestibular ataxia is caused by damage to the vestibular system and is mainly a disorder of balance. It is characterized by an impaired balance both at rest and during exercise. It has the same points as cerebellar ataxia, such as wide base of the feet when standing, unstable body, falling sideways or backwards, and deflection when walking. But generally there are obvious dizziness, nystagmus, and abnormal vestibular function tests that can be identified.
