Keep your mouth out
The main clinical manifestations of diffuse encephalopathy associated with rheumatic fever are involuntary movements of the face and limbs, weakened muscle tone, and emotional changes. The main pathological changes are arteritis, degeneration of nerve cells, and inflammatory cell infiltration around blood vessels in the basal ganglia, cerebral cortex, cerebellum, and substantia nigra. Children are often accompanied by mental symptoms.
