Lemon Sputum
Lemon-colored sputum is common in simple pulmonary eosinophilia. Simple pulmonary eosinophilia was first reported by Loffler in 1932, so it is also called Lofflers syndrome. It is characterized by mild systemic symptoms, transient X-ray lung shadows, and increased blood eosinophils with a course of 2 to 4 weeks. Patients may have a personal or family history of allergies.
