The sequelae of neonatal bilirubin encephalopathy usually occurs 2 months to 3 years after birth, with slow movements of hands and feet, difficulty in turning the eyeballs, strabismus, and hearing impairment. The enamel is not fully developed with green or brown teeth. The so-called quadruple syndrome is mainly caused by system damage. Among the 48 cases of bilirubin encephalopathy seen in the follow-up of 835 cases of hemolytic disease in Shanghai, there were also symptoms of mental retardation, cramps or clonics, fatigue, and salivation.
