Cervical lymphadenopathy
Lymph nodes are important immune organs of the body, and are places where immune responses are stimulated by antigens. They have the functions of filtration, proliferation and immunity. The superficial lymph nodes of normal human body are very small, mostly within 0.5cm in diameter, the surface is smooth and soft, and there is no adhesion with surrounding tissues and no tenderness. When the body is affected by pathogenic factors, the information is transmitted to the lymph nodes, and lymphocytes produce lymphokines and antibodies, effectively killing the pathogenic factors. The result of the "struggle" between the two is a reactive hyperplasia of lymphocytes and histiocytes in the lymph nodes, which enlarges the lymph nodes.
