Rupture of external anal sphincter
The external anal sphincter starts from the dorsal side of the coccyx and the coccyx ligament of the anus, and goes forward and downward. It is divided into two at the back of the anus, and surrounds the sides of the anal canal to the front of the anus. The external sphincter is divided into three parts: subcutaneous, superficial and deep by voluntary longitudinal muscle fibers. The lower part of the skin is generally identifiable. There is no obvious boundary between the shallow and deep parts, which is difficult to distinguish, but the former is oval and the latter is circular. There is still a difference in appearance between the two. The external anal sphincter is innervated by the anal nerve, and plays an important role in sphincter anus control and defecation control. If accidentally injured during operation, it can cause fecal incontinence. Rupture of the external anal sphincter can destroy the function of the external anal sphincter and cause fecal incontinence.
