Liver pain
Pain in the liver area refers to the feeling of pain in the part located in the right rib or under the xiphoid process. The nature of the pain is intermittent or persistent pain. Dull or stinging, the patient may feel discomfort in the right upper quadrant for a period of time before the pain. The pain can be mild or severe or relieve on its own in the short term. The liver itself is not sensitive to pain. The main causes of pain in the liver area are pain caused by stimulation of the intrahepatic bile ducts and pain caused by the stretch of the hepatocyte membrane.
