In-ear occlusion
A sense of occlusion in the ear means that the ear seems to be blocked by a ball of cotton and the hearing is reduced. Tinnitus, hearing loss, and ear occlusion are common symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer. When nasopharyngeal cancer occurs in the side wall of the nasopharynx, lateral fossa, or the upper lip of the Eustachian tube, unilateral tinnitus or hearing can occur when the tumor compresses the Eustachian tube. Declines can also occur with cataract otitis media.
