Pituitary dysfunction

The pituitary gland is the most important endocrine gland of the human body, divided into two parts, the anterior lobe and the posterior lobe. It secretes a variety of hormones, such as growth hormone, thyroid stimulating hormone, adrenocorticotropic hormone, gonadotropin, oxytocin, prolactin, melanocyte stimulating hormone, etc., and can store antidiuretic hormone secreted by the hypothalamus. These hormones have important effects on metabolism, growth, development and reproduction. The cause of pituitary dysfunction is called primary pituitary dysfunction, and those in the hypothalamus are called secondary pituitary dysfunction.
