Bypass surgery for quadruple syndrome
Tetralogy of Fallot-the most common form of purpuric congenital heart disease. Untreated Faroese disease. Thirty percent will die at six months of age. Less than 10% of patients are able to live to twenty. Babies with this disease are fortunate enough to live up to childhood, and often become more noticeable. After surgery, the patients' lips and nails can become reddish, almost the same skin color as normal people. Detour surgery is usually required for quadruple syndrome.
