Serum lecithin-cholesterol acyltransferase
LCAT is synthesized by the liver and plays an enzymatic role in the plasma. It catalyzes the transfer of lecithin-2-fatty acid in HDL to FC, which produces CE and lysophospholipid. Under the action of the above Apo, LCAT can regulate FC and CE in both directions. The LCAT selective substrate is HDL and has little effect on VLDL and LDL. In the case of hereditary and secondary LCAT deficiency and alcoholic hepatitis, abnormal HDL metabolism occurs.
