Thrombin consumption test

Under physiological conditions, a large amount of prothrombin is consumed for blood coagulation, and there is little remaining prothrombin in the serum after coagulation, and the prothrombin time of the serum is significantly prolonged. If factors Ⅷ, Ⅸ, Ⅺ, and Ⅻ are defective, and thrombin production is poor. When prothrombin consumption is reduced, more prothrombin remains in the serum, and the prothrombin time is shortened.
