Hepatitis G virus (HGV) is a single-stranded positive-strand RNA virus, belonging to the Flaviviridae family, which is mainly transmitted by blood, and its pathogenicity is still unclear. HGV can detect nucleic acids using PCR, but is not very mature. Anti-HGV can also be detected by ELISA method, and positive means infection or previous infection with HEV.
