Sodium urate hydrolysis test
The sodium hippurate hydrolysis test is based on the principle that some bacteria can have hippurate hydrolase, which can hydrolyze hippuric acid to benzoic acid and glycine, and benzoic acid is combined with ferric chloride reagent to form iron benzoate precipitation.
