Phentolamine block test

The phentolamine block test (Regitin test) is performed by the following principle. Phentolamine (ie, benzylamine oxazoline) is an α-adrenergic receptor blocker that blocks the alpha of catecholamines. -Receptor effect, which causes persistent or paroxysmal hypertension caused by elevated catecholamine levels to decrease rapidly. Therefore, through the response to phentolamine, the relationship between hypertension and pheochromocytoma can be judged.
