Beta-lactamase
β-lactamase refers to an inactivating enzyme that can catalyze the hydrolysis of amide bonds in the β-lactam ring in biomolecules. Bacterial production of β-lactamase is the main mechanism of bacteria's resistance to β-lactam antibiotics. β-lactamase antibiotics include penicillins, cephalosporins, atypical β-lactams, etc., which is the largest class of drugs with the most varieties, the fastest research progress and the most widely clinical application.
