Sublingual nerve examination
The hypoglossal nerve innervates the ipsilateral tongue muscle, and its role is to stretch the tongue forward and push it to the opposite side. At the time of the examination, the patient was instructed to stretch his tongue and observe whether the tongue was deflected, the thickness of the sides of the tongue was not equal, and the fluttering was not equal.
