Facial Vitiligo

Introduction

Introduction There are many kinds of white spots on the face, such as vitiligo, sputum, sweat spots and so on. The main manifestation of vitiligo is that the local skin is milky white spots, and the hair of the affected area can be normal and white. The disease is generally not painful or itchy. If the area of white spots is large, there is occasional burning sensation after exposure in summer.

Cause

Cause

The cause is quite complicated. In recent years, some people believe that it may be related to immune disorders. It has also been found that the trace elements of patients, such as copper, zinc, iron, etc., are often low, so it is thought that it may be caused by a decrease in trace elements or abnormal metabolism of biological enzymes. In addition, some vitiligo occurs after exposure to certain chemicals, or when inflammation such as frostbite, eczema, neurodermatitis, psoriasis or discoid lupus erythematosus subsides, local skin may also appear vitiligo, which is called secondary vitiligo. Some patients with diabetes, pernicious anemia, gastric acid deficiency, hyperthyroidism, and alopecia areata may also be associated with vitiligo. Other patients develop vitiligo after mental stimulation.

The white spot of vitiligo mainly shows pale white, milky white, cloud white or porcelain white, and the hair of the affected part will gradually turn white. The vitiligo does not have any itching feeling. Only after exposure, there will be some burning pain. Under normal circumstances, it only affects the image of the patient, and it does not appear as scaly like psoriasis. The vitiligo is not scaly.

Diagnosis

Differential diagnosis

It should be differentiated from rash, tinea versicolor, peach aphid and anemia.

1, rash: occurs in the face and neck, trunk and limbs, etc., can also occur in any part. The distribution can be symmetrical or irregular. The rash is a round or irregularly shaped white patch of varying sizes with a clear border and a dark pigmentation at the edges, often surrounded by pigmentation bands. The affected hair can also be white. The number of rashes varies, and can be single or multiple. White spots are prone to redness after sun exposure. Generally no symptoms. The course of the disease is slow and often persists; a small number of patients can gradually recover.

2, tinea versicolor: occurs in the chest and back, neck and proximal extremities, the number is often more, the surface is attached with a scorpion-like micro-light fine scaly, direct microscopic examination of fungi.

3, peach bud: more common in children and adolescents, rash often occurs in the face, is a circular or elliptical rash of varying sizes, pale color, the boundary is identifiable and less obvious, the edge is non-pigmented with a small amount of surface Grayish white scaly scales.

4, anemia : for pale spots, occurs in the chest, back and face, rubbing or slamming the affected area, pale spots do not change color (and white spots of vitiligo, rubbing or slamming after flushing).
