Increased platelet aggregation

Introduction

Introduction Platelet aggregation is one of the main functions of platelets, and malignant tumors enhance platelet aggregation.

Cause

Cause

The cause of increased platelet aggregation

Various types of malignant tumors. Tumors induce platelet aggregation. The different mechanisms that exist may be:

ADP-mediated: Malignant tumor cells have an activating substance that directly promotes aggregation, and can release ADP, which mediates the spontaneous formation or platelet release of the tumor.

Thrombosis-dependent manner: Some tumor cell metastasis ability is consistent with thrombosis and platelet aggregation ability, and thrombus may be caused by lipoprotein on the cell surface.

Thrombin generation: Some tumor cells have platelet aggregation activity/procoagulant activity (PAA/PCA) plasma membrane protein, activated coagulation system leads to thrombin generation, and thrombin binds to the surface of platelets to activate secretion and platelet aggregation.

Tumor cell membrane glycoprotein: In recent years, it has been found that certain membrane glycoproteins of tumor cells are also involved in platelet aggregation. Membrane proteins mediate platelet aggregation independent of thrombin, but are susceptible to trypsin inhibition. In the above mechanism, divalent cations and plasma factors are extremely important for the activity of tumor cells to induce platelet aggregation.

Enhanced platelet aggregation

The role of platelets in tumor proliferation and metastasis is mainly manifested in: the induction of platelet aggregation by tumor cells can greatly promote the formation of tumor thrombus, so that tumor cells are easily retained in capillaries due to mechanical resistance; substances released by platelets can induce endothelial cell contraction. Exposure of the subendothelial matrix membrane facilitates cell adsorption to the stromal membrane and invasion of cells from the blood into the tissue; platelets can promote the cloning and growth of tumor cells at the metastatic site by releasing platelet-derived growth factors; platelet-derived growth of activated platelets Factor and transforming growth factor beta also directly stimulate DNA synthesis and mitosis in tumor cells. Therefore, malignant tumors increase platelet aggregation and lead to hypercoagulability, which is also an important condition and factor for cancer metastasis and recurrence.

The diagnosis of malignant tumors, laboratory cytological examination, despite its high specificity, the use of pleural effusion and serum to detect pH, CEA, ferritin, GGT, LDH and other indicators to identify malignant tumors, improve the positive rate, played a very good effect.

Diagnosis

Differential diagnosis

Increased platelet aggregation needs to be differentiated from the following symptoms

Thrombocytopenia: Primary hemorrhagic thrombocythemia is an unexplained abnormal proliferation of myeloproliferative diseases with a persistent increase in platelets.

Platelet life is shortened: Platelets are a fragment of blood cells and an atypical cell because it does not have a nucleus. Thrombocytopenia caused by shortened platelet life.
