Flatulence

Introduction

Introduction Gastrointestinal flatulence is a general term for a series of symptoms caused by indigestion. Indigestion is often manifested as abdominal pain or discomfort after a meal, often accompanied by nausea, belching, snoring, and stomach swelling. Among them, hernia, abdominal distension, abdominal pain, excessive exhaustion, snoring, etc. are considered to be gastrointestinal flatulence. The gas in the gastrointestinal tract is excreted as helium, discharged through the anus as an exhaust gas, and a part is absorbed by the intestinal wall. Normal adults will have a feeling of flatulence when the amount of gas in the gastrointestinal tract increases. Long-term dyspepsia can also lead to malnutrition and decreased immune function. Indigestion is only a clinical manifestation, and needs to be differentiated from early gastric cancer, pancreas, gallbladder, and liver diseases, so patients with dyspepsia should seek medical treatment as soon as possible.

Cause

Cause

1. Ingestion of large amounts of air: a large amount of gas can be swallowed by gassing; when mental factors or certain gastrointestinal diseases increase saliva, more gas can be swallowed with saliva. It is also easy to swallow air when drinking plenty of water or drinking into a drink.

2. Intestinal emptying disorder: When the intestinal obstruction or intestinal wall tension is weakened, excessive gas and liquid can accumulate in the intestinal tract.

3. Indigestion: Rough foods containing more cellulose can increase intestinal volume and affect normal peristalsis and cause bloating. Long-term application of broad-spectrum antibiotics can inhibit the normal flora of the intestines and cause food to produce gas.

Diagnosis of gastrointestinal flatulence:

Gastrointestinal flatulence is often caused by indigestion. Indigestion is often manifested as abdominal pain or discomfort after a meal, such as hernia, snoring, stomach swelling, etc., but often with early gastric cancer, gastric ulcer, duodenum Ulcers, pancreas, gallbladder, liver and other diseases are differentiated, so even patients with indigestion should seek medical treatment as soon as possible, such as barium meal, gastroscope, liver function and other items for a clear diagnosis.

Diagnosis

Differential diagnosis

Gastrointestinal symptoms: manifested as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and diarrhea, caused by the release of histamine and inflammatory mediators. Occasionally, tumor mast cells can also directly infiltrate the gastrointestinal tract.

Gastrointestinal bloating: The gastrointestinal tract is not smooth or obstructed due to various reasons. The gas in the gastrointestinal tract cannot be excreted in the gastrointestinal tract with the gastrointestinal motility. Gastrointestinal bloating can be functional or organic. For example, irritable bowel syndrome and mild phlegm caused by diabetes make the gastrointestinal bloating a functional bloating. Most of the pyloric obstruction and intestinal obstruction are organic bloating. Both often and constipation exist.

Gastrointestinal dysfunction: Gastrointestinal dysfunction, also known as gastrointestinal neurosis or gastrointestinal neurosis. The disease is mainly caused by gastrointestinal dysfunction, and there are many backgrounds of mental factors, but there is no organic pathological basis in pathological anatomy, and does not include gastrointestinal dysfunction caused by other system diseases.

In normal adults, a small amount of gas of about 100-150 ml is retained in the gastrointestinal tract every day. When the amount of gas increases, gastrointestinal flatulence is formed. One is to swallow the air into the gastrointestinal tract with swallowing or drinking water, the other is that the food is enzymatically produced by the bacteria in the intestine, and the third is that the gas diffuses from the blood vessels into the intestinal lumen.
