Vertebral artery tortuosity

Traumatic embolism of vertebral artery is a serious complication of neck contusion. The vertebral artery is tortuous, cramped, and compressed due to changes in the position of the cervical spine, and transient symptoms appear. Vertebral artery can also be caused by strong traction or tear leading to secondary thrombosis. The vertebral artery is one of the main blood-supplying arteries of brain tissue, and a series of neurological symptoms often occur after embolization. Measures such as head traction, braking and anticoagulation must be taken in time.
