Lump at midline of abdomen

A mass at the midline of the abdomen is a clinical feature of a white line hernia. The rectus abdominis sheaths on both sides intertwine at the midline of the abdomen to form a ventral white line. Prolapse of the abdominal cavity via the abdominal white line is called hernia of white line.
