Hepatitis D virus
Hepatitis D virus (HDV) is a defective virus. The surface is coated with HBV envelope protein. It can neither replicate nor proliferate alone. Hepatitis B virus infection must be accompanied by hepatitis B virus or other Basis for liver DNA virus infection. Clinically, because Hepatitis B is more common, the diagnosis of Hepatitis D is often masked or missed. Therefore, patients with Hepatitis B should be alert to the infection of Hepatitis D if their condition suddenly worsens and worsens. Hepatitis D virus tests generally detect hepatitis D virus antigen (HDAg) and hepatitis D virus antibodies (anti-HD) in the serum. The purpose of the test is to detect people carrying the hepatitis D virus.
