Balloon ejection test
The balloon expulsion test can be used to determine whether the rectum feels normal and to determine the function of the anal sphincter. If the anal sphincter is damaged and there is no sphincter function, the balloon can slide out of the anus on its own, or the balloon can be discharged after a slight increase in abdominal pressure. This test can help determine if there is any abnormality in the function of the rectum and pelvic floor muscles.
