Serum α1-acid glycoprotein
α1-acid glycoprotein was early called whey mucin. With a molecular weight of about 40,000, it is synthesized by the liver, and cancer cells can also be synthesized. The structure of the peptide chain of α1AG is similar to that of the variable region of Ig light chain, part of the heavy chain region, and the globin-binding α chain, indicating that α1AG evolved from the Ig family.
