Acute pulmonary heart disease
Acute pulmonary heart disease (acute cor pulmonale) is a heart disease in which the pulmonary artery trunk or its main branch is suddenly embolized, and the pulmonary circulation is largely blocked, resulting in a sharp increase in pulmonary artery pressure, acute right ventricular dilatation and right ventricular failure. Because this disease is mainly seen in patients with huge pulmonary embolism, this section only describes pulmonary embolism and its acute pulmonary heart disease.
