Vagus nerve examination

The vagus nerve governs most organs of the respiratory and digestive systems as well as the sensory, motor, and glandular secretions of the heart. The vagus nerve has many functions that are closely integrated with the glossopharyngeal nerve. The vagus nerve test is to determine whether the vagus nerve is damaged by the patient's pronunciation and the response when touching the bilateral posterior pharyngeal wall.
