Urine Creatine
Creatine in the body is partly derived from food and partly synthesized in the body. Most of its presence (about 98%) is in muscle. The content of skeletal muscle and cardiac muscle is higher than that of smooth muscle. Most of the creatine contained in skeletal muscle is combined with phosphate to form creatine phosphate. Phosphocreatine contains a high-energy phosphate bond. It is a form of energy storage. There is no significant change in creatine content in kidney disease, which has no clinical value, but in the case of extensive muscle damage, creatine content in urine increases.
