Fecal food residue

Food residues in normal stools are fine particles that have been digested, and occasionally starch particles and fat droplets can be seen. In chronic pancreatitis and pancreatic insufficiency, starch granules increase. Intestinal peristalsis, diarrhea, and indigestion are often seen with fat droplets.
