Serum thyroid stimulating hormone receptor antibody

Thyroid stimulating hormone receptor antibody (TRAb), also known as membrane receptor antibody, is an antibody that directly acts on TSH receptors on the membrane of thyroid cells. It belongs to immunoglobulin IgG and can be divided into the following three categories based on its effect: ① thyroid irritant Antibodies (TSAb), also known as thyroid-stimulating immunoglobulin (TSI), bind to TSH receptors on the thyroid follicular membrane, stimulate goiter and enhance their functional activity, which is the main cause of Graves disease. ② Thyroid function inhibitory antibody (TFIAb): Also known as thyroid function inhibitory immunoglobulin (TFII), when combined with the TSH receptor, it can inhibit thyroid function and cause hypothyroidism. ③ thyroid growth stimulating immunoglobulin (TGI): can stimulate goiter, but does not affect its function.
