Antitriiodothyronine

Trans-triiodothyronine (r T3) is the product of thyroid hormone deiodination in peripheral tissues. It is often used clinically to detect thyroid secretion and peripheral blood thyroid hormone metabolism. Examination of transtriiodothyronine is also used in the diagnosis and evaluation of curative effect of thyroid dysfunction, especially in the assessment of hyperthyroidism. In hyperthyroidism, γT3 elevation is more sensitive than T3 and T4. Clinically, γT3 is commonly determined by RIA method.
