Partial pressure of oxygen

Partial blood oxygen pressure refers to the tension of physical dissolved oxygen in the plasma, which reflects the degree of hypoxia in the body. Under one atmosphere of pressure, 100 ml of oxygen is physically dissolved in the body and only 0.3 ml is in the blood. Therefore, the oxygen required in the body mainly comes from the chemically bound oxygen of hemoglobin. The partial pressure of arterial oxygen (PaO2) is normally about 13.3kPa (100mmHg), which depends on the partial pressure of oxygen inhaled and the respiratory function of the lung. Venous partial blood oxygen pressure (PvO2) is normally about 5.32 kPa (40mmHg), which can reflect the condition of internal breathing. Arterial blood was drawn from the specimen.
